Don't Forget Editing

Sometimes you have to edit words out, like this found poem's first version -

Shadows fell by the light of the pale moon. The sky was rising in a strong, sweeping rush.
The trees highest branches beat like wings in the air in tumult. Even the rocks and streams seemed to be swooping wide in the woods. A sudden flurry swept suddenly up. I saw the dark woods touched with the light briefly, then it ended. I shut my eyes and wished it would go on longer.

Here is the revision, much tighter, and less wordier, at least a bit.

Shadows fell by the light of the pale moon. The sky was rising in a sweeping rush. The trees highest branches beat like wings in the air, in tumult. Even the rocks and streams seemed to be swooping wide in the woods. Another sudden flurry swept up. The dark woods touched with light briefly. I shut my eyes and caught hold of time and wonder, praying it would never end.

Here is a before version, and after version, visually.
